Chepstow Friday race card in jeopardy

CHEPSTOW'S meeting on Friday is in jeopardy as the track has been hit by a huge amount of rain over the last 24 hours.

The going is currently heavy, waterlogged in places and, although there are no plans to inspect at this stage, clerk of the course Tim Long will be reviewing the situation in the morning.

"We have hadaround 60 millimetres of rain since yesterday afternoon so, as you can imagine, we are waterlogged in places," said Long.

"Obviously, it is declaration stage tomorrow, so we will have a look at things in the morning and take itfrom there.

"We havea very strong wind at present, which will obviously dry things up a bit, so we will just have to see what happens."
