Twist Magic: set to go for Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon on SundayPICTURE: Edward Whitaker
Twist off to Huntingdon instead of Tingle Creek
TWIST MAGIC is likely to miss the Keith Prowse Hospitality Tingle Creek Chase at Cheltenham on Saturday and instead go for the Totesport.com Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon on Sunday.
The Paul Nicholls-trained eight-year-old won the Tingle Creek in 2007 and 2009 at Sandown, its usual home, but has a poor record at Cheltenham, where he has completed in just one of his four starts.
Twist Magic is one of 12 entries for the 2m4½f Grade 2 Peterborough Chase and, while he has never run at Huntingdon, he is likely to be well suited by the flat, right-handed track. His six chase wins since moving out of novice company have all been at right-handed courses.
His likely withdrawal from the Tingle Creek leaves Nicholls, chasing a remarkable sixth consecutive victory in the race, to rely on Master Minded against eight rivals in the Grade 1 chase.
