Pipe's Dynaste misses Paddy Power Gold Cup

ANTE-POST favourite Dynaste will not run in Saturday's Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham, trainer David Pipe confirmed on Thursday.

A top novice last year, Dynaste was as short as 5-1 for the prestigious handicap, but Pipe has decided not to run him.

The trainer tweeted: "Ballynagour will be our only runner in the Paddy Power Gold Cup @CheltenhamRaces on Saturday."

Dynaste, winner of the Grade 1 Feltham Novices' Chase at Kempton last term and a major contender for the track's William Hill King George VI Chase next month, could start his season in the Betfair Chase at Haydock next Saturday.

Katenko and Salut Flo were other horses prominent in the betting for the Paddy Power not among the final 20 confirmed for the race on Thursday morning.

Sean Airgead and Tatenen have not made the cut, while Tony McCoy rides Tap Night for his boss JP McManus.

Champion Court and Johns Spirit lead the revised betting at 6-1, followed by Ballynagour at 8-1.
