Calgary Bay: could return to Cheltenham to take his chance in the ArklePICTURE: Mark Cranham
Knight 'leaning towards' Arkle for Calgary Bay
HENRIETTA KNIGHT may yet let Cheltenham winner Calgary Bay take his chance at the Cheltenham Festival with the Arkle Chase his potential target.
Knight was worried that the 2m of the Arkle, for which he is 10-1 with Coral, may too short for the six-year-old.
Calgary Bay could have his Cheltenham prep race at Haydock over 2m4f a week on Saturday, a race My Way De Solzen won on his way to success in the Arkle.
Knight said: "He has come back very well and you wouldn't even think he has had a race.
"He is a very powerful horse but I don't want to do too much with him as he is big and still maturing.
"We still haven't decided what to do with him and need to thinkabout it. I am not particularly keen on bringing him back in distance for the Arkle but that is the way we are leaning."
