A BROADLY similar day to Tuesday is anticipated at Cheltenham on Wednesday, with just a chance of a light shower.
Clerk of the course Simon Claisse changed Tuesday's going description to "good, good to soft in places" after the Cross Country Chase, and anticipates starting proceedings on day two under similar conditions.
He said on Tuesday evening: "I looked at the ground after the cross country and felt it had got a little quicker, so I changed the emphasis.
"It's expected to be dry overnight, with maybe a little frost, and tomorow we are forecast a dry day with sunny spells and temperatures similar to today's, which I believe were around 12C and 13C. There's just a chance of a light shower during the afternoon."
Looking ahead to the last two days, when the action switches to the New Course, he said: "I'll look at the New Course later on, but so far as the weather forecast is concerned we are still expecting two or three millimetres of rain on Thursday, and then four or five at some stage on Friday.
"However, there's some uncertainty about the timing of Friday's rain, and it might not come until after racing."
