THE watering cycle that began at Cheltenham on Monday is likely to end ahead of schedule on Wednesday, but clerk of the course Simon Claisse admitted the taps could be turned on again at the weekend, if the forecast dry weather continues.
"I am leaving the going as good, good to soft in places on both the Old and New courses until we have finished this watering operation, but there won't be any appreciable rain before the festival and it is still looking like a dry forecast for next week," said Claisse.
"We will let this irrigation settle in for a day or so, and then take a view on the forecast on Thursday and Friday to see whether or not we would consider going again."
