Gold Cup bid doubt for Diamond Harry

DIAMOND HARRY'S Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup bid was in the balance on Monday as connections awaited detailed investigation of a possible wind problem.

The former Hennessy Gold Cup winner could finish only in fifth behind Midnight Chase in last Saturday's Argento Chase but part-owner Paul Duffy said on Monday: "We believehe has a breathing problem.

"Noel Fehily reported he was gasping for air so we are having it investigated - I spoke to Noel yesterday and he thought the horse did very well in light of the problem.

"Diamond Harry is seeing the vet tomorrow to see what the issue is. It is not impossible he could still go for the Gold Cup, we are still looking at that, but if he can't make it there are other races in the calendar, like the three-mile chase at Aintree."
