Cheltenham Festival: Last Instalment given green light for Gold Cup

LAST INSTALMENT will run in the Betfred Gold Cup this afternoon, as connections decided to let the nine-year-old take his chance having walked the course.

Due to concerns over the ground getting too quick, a late decision was expected on Last Instalment's participation, but trainer Philip Fenton was happy with underfoot conditions after walking the track on Friday morning.

Last Instalment is the 8-1 third-favourite for the Betfred Gold Cup. First Lieutenant, also owned by Gigginstown House Stud, has been ruled out on a self-certificate, having not eaten up.
