ROGER CHARLTON, trainer of last year's Stewards' Cup scorer Genki, is wary of the threat of Palace Moon, who joins the 2009 winner at the head of the betting for today's race.
A number of firms, including Victor Chandler and Ladbrokes, cannot separate the pair for the Blue Square-sponsored big betting race on the final day of Glorious Goodwood, but Charlton, a three-time Stewards' Cup winner, rates the Canisbury Bloodstock-owned five-year-old as a danger to all.
"I think Palace Moon has a great chance. He's well in at the weights and is the one they all have to beat," Charlton said on Channel 4 Racing's Morning Line.
Palace Moon, transferred to trainer William Knight from Hughie Morrison last month, came with a strong, late burst to grab third in the Wokingham and has since finished second to St Moritz at Newmarket over 7f.
The two Pricewise selections are dominating the early morning betting activity on the Stewards' Cup, withWilliam Hill cutting Evens And Odds to 22-1 (from 33) and Coral now 7-1 (from 9) about Enact.
Blue Square have seen support for Midday with Henry Cecil's filly now 2-1 (from 9-4) to win the Nassau Stakes for the second year running.
