Catterick to inspect on Sunday for Monday

OFFICIALS at Catterick will hold an 8am inspection on Sunday to determine whether racing can take place on Monday.

The course missed the snow on Thursday night but clerk of the course Fiona Needham said: "We had freezing rain yesterday and the ground has been frozen since February 3.

"The frost is quite deep in the ground but it is forecast to warm up on Sunday and Monday.

"The inspection will give us a chance to review what's happening but I think the relatively warmer weather may arrive a little too late."

Catterick is due to stage a six-race card, starting at 2.15pm, on Monday.
