Carroll hoping Jolly Roger can fly the flag

ALL eyes will be on Jolly Roger at Newton Abbot this evening, as Tony Carroll's five-year-old bids for a seven-timer in the 2m1f handicap hurdle.

Jolly Roger started his winning streak off 94 at Uttoxeter in May, and is now competing off a mark of 133, and he will be taking on five rivals, including Dineur and Romeo Americo, who both won last time out.

Sir Mozart gave Barney Curley a winner at Wolverhampton on Monday after his price fluctuated wildly, eventually returning at 9-2 having been backed in from 9-1 before drifting out again to 8-1, and it could be worth seeing if there is any money for Shouda at Brighton this afternoon.

Also at Brighton, course specialist Penang Cinta will bid to gain a seventh sucess at the track from his 16th start there.

Elsewhere, there is action on the Flat at Beverley this afternoon and Newbury this evening, while there is Irish jumping action from Ballinrobe, also in the evening.
