Snowy Dawn makes promising start in France
Report: France, Friday
Cagnes-Sur-Mer
SNOWY DAWN, one of the three-strong raiding party to Cagnes-Sur-Mer from the Reg Holinshead yard made a promising start when finishing fourth in a maiden on Friday.
Trainer's son Andrew, who is in charge of the trio said: "It was a good start. Snowy Dawn ran in a mile maiden and was staying on well to take fourth. In another couple of strides he would have finished second.
"He earned €2,400 which is probably more than he would get for winning an all-weather maiden here so we're very pleased. Ideally he needs further and there's a mile-and-a-quarter maiden which should suit him in ten days time.
"Moorway finished a respectable seventh, but we're scratching our heads a bit with him."
The third member of the Hollinshead team, Dha Chara, runs there Saturday and the trainer's son said: "He's in a conditions event and I expect it'll be too hot a race for him, but he's settled in well and there will be easier opportunities for him later on."
