Dabirsim to miss 2,000 Guineas for Longchamp

LAST year's joint-champion two-year-old Dabirsim will miss the Qipco 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 5, with trainer Christophe Ferland electing to stay at home for the French equivalent at Longchamp a week later.

The unbeaten son of Hat Trick is a best-priced 10-1 second favourite for the 2,000 Guineas behind Camelot, the horse with whom he shared top honours in the World Thoroughbred Rankings for his juvenile campaign.

"We've decided he'll be trained for the Poule d'Essai des Poulains at Longchamp," Ferland said on Wednesday.

"His reappearance will be in the Prix Fontainebleau [April 15] over the same course at Longchamp, which we knows suits him well."

Dabirsim struck Group 1 glory twice last season, winning Deauville's Prix Morny before landing the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp on Arc day.
