Bungle Inthejungle (right): steps up in trip for Phoenix Stakes on Sunday

BUNGLE INTHEJUNGLE will attempt to continue his progression when he will be the sole British representative in the field for the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

The juvenile has improved steadily through the season and gained a first Group win in the Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood with a late run to nail Morawij by a head.
Although the step up from Group 3 to Group 1 company demands more, connections are hoping for a big run.
Trainer Mick Channon's racing secretary Sue Harding said: "He is brilliant - he is like a lion, the question mark is whether he will stay the six but he has certainly got the ability.
"The drier the ground will be the better for him and he is in great form so hopefully he will run a big race. It helped when Bolger didn't declare his good one [Dawn Approach]."
Jim Bolger has not declared Dawn Approach, but he still has Wexford Opera and Leitir Mor. Aidan O'Brien has farmed the race for many years - seven wins in the last ten - and relies on Cristoforo Colombo, Parliament Square, Pedro The Great and Probably.
The ground at the Curragh was on Saturday morning described as good to yielding, yielding in places. The forecast is for a dry day, with showers overnight and on Sunday.
