Buick set for French debut in Prix de Lutece
PREVIEW: FRANCE, Friday
Longchamp: Prix de Lutece (G3) 1m7f
WILLIAM BUICK will take his first ride in France on Friday afternoon when partnering smart stayer Donegal for boss Andrew Balding in Longchamp's Group 3 Prix de Lutece.
The Listed winner, who has finished second in the Gordon Stakes and third in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes on his latest two outings, has six opponents in the 1m7f prize.
Balding said: "Donegal has very solid form, stays well and I am very happy with him."
Donegal's most serious rival could be the Freddie Head-trained Watar, who won the Listed Prix Michel Houyvet at Deauville last month and should again hold Americain and Tsar de Russie.
Andre Fabre, successful in the Lutece on eight occasions in the last 25 years, runs Track Record, Classic Swain and Americain.
