Brown Panther back at Goodwood for Listed race

BROWN PANTHER, denied the chance of a shot at Classic glory in the Irish St Leger this month, has been declared for Wednesday's Greene King Foundation Stakes at Goodwood.

Trained by Tom Dascombe for Michael Owen and Andrew Black, Brown Panther had the Curragh Classic as a long-term goal for the season, but spiked a temperature and missed the race.

The Emirates Melbourne Cup, for which he is a 25-1 chance with bet365, is also on his agenda, but first he tackles eight rivals in the Listed Foundation Stakes over 1m2f.

It is a drop in class and trip for the son of Shirocco, who scored an impressive success over 2m in the Group 2 Goodwood Cup on his last appearance.

Among his rivals is Quick Wit, bidding to give trainer Saeed Bin Suroor his seventh win in the race in 12 years.
