Cool Egan times it right on Prodigality in Bullet
Report: Brighton, Friday
Talk To Victor Brighton Bullet Handicap, 6f, 3yo+
PRODIGALITY gave Ron Harris a second win in five years in the Brighton Bullet with a convincing success under apprentice-of-the-moment Darren Egan.
Yurituni was sent into an immediate lead by Cathy Gannon and the five-year-old remained at the head of affairs until Egan eased the 2-1 favourite up to challenge inside the final furlong.
Prodigality had finished second on both his previous starts this season and he was good value for his two-length win from Yurituni, who was sent off at 20-1. Courageous (10-1) just came out on top in the battle for third, a further length and three-quarters back.
Harris, remembering that he followed this Darley cast-off to three sales before snaring him at Ascot for 11,000gns, said: "He's a nice progressive horse but I've been struggling to find a race for him over this trip - there's plenty of five furlongs for 0-75s and after the way he travelled today we might run him back at that.
"He could be as good or better next year than my other sprinters, Judge N Jury and Secret Witness, and could go for some of the big handicaps."
