BILL TURNER secured his sixth Brocklesby when Mick's Yer Man landed the opening race of the 2013 Flat season at Doncaster on Friday.

The son of Bahamian Bounty, who is owned by the trainer's wife Tracy, was ridden by his grandson Ryan While and charged to a convincing success.

Sent off a 5-1 chance, he had five lengths to spare over 11-2 shot Vodka Time.

Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan were chasing their third Brocklesby success since 2007 but had to settle for third with Lord Clyde, who also returned at 11-2.

Turner, who named his winner after trainer Mick Easterby, won his first Brocklesby with Indian Spark in 1996.

That was followed by wins for The Lord (2002), Spoof Master (2006) and Sally's Dilemma (2008), while He's So Cool scored two years ago.
