KEMPTON and Bangor will inspect at 8am on Thursday for Friday's cards, with both tracks frozen in places after overnight frosts on Tuesday.
A contingency plan of a 'bumpers for jumpers' card on the Polytrack at Kempton is in place, and clerk of the course Barney Clifford will make a decision on Thursday as to which meeting takes place.
He said on Wednesday: "It was minus three overnight with a wind chill of minus seven. We had a slow thawyesterday which was encouraging but we're now frozen in places and back to square one.
"Temperatures are forecast to rise to plus one today then minus two overnight. We want to give everything every chance so will make a definitive decision on Thursday."
At Bangor, prospects are "not good," for Friday's card according to clerk of the course Andrew Morris. Although the course missed the snow that has hit the majority of the country, temperatures dipped to -5C on Tuesday night, and Morris said on Wednesday morning: "The prospects are not good as we stand.
"We avoided the snow and were fit to race on Tuesday afternoon but it is now frozen in places with temperatures not due to rise much today [+1C] and then is another reasonably severe frost forecast overnight. We will have to see how deep the frost gets in."
