Bangor card under threat after Dee bursts its banks
BANGOR'S meeting on Saturday, which features the Ginger McCain Memorial Novices' Chase, is in the balance after the nearby River Dee burst its banks on Tuesday night.
Clerk of the course Andrew Morris said on Wednesday: "Like many areas of North Wales we have been hard hit by the wet weather. The River Dee came over the flood defences last night and left a volume of water on certain areas of the course.
"The water is draining away now, but it is a race against time as far as Saturday is concerned, and we'll have an inspection on Thursday morning to take stock."
