Serienhoehe lands Maurice Lacroix-Trophy
REPORT: GERMANY, Friday
Baden-Baden: Maurice Lacroix-Trophy (Group 3) 2yo, 7f
SERIENHOEHE (22-10) out ran the formerly Paul Cole-trained Mambo Light to win the Group 3 Maurice Lacroix-Trophy by one and a quarter lengths at Baden-Baden.
Takhir, who was narrowly favoured over the winner, finished four lengths back in third.
Peter Schiergen, who trains them both, said: "I thought there was little between them but the soft going gave the advantage to the filly.
"She's a very nice horse but so is Nina Celebre, another filly from the same owner (Gestut Wittekindshof), who won for me here earlier this afternoon.
"They are both in the Preis der Winterkonigin (Group 3 over 1m on October 26) but I will talk plans with the owner and we'll decide whether torun both in the same race or keep them apart."
Andreas Wohler was happy with Mambo Light, who led early in the straight but was no match for the winner in the closing stages.
He said: "Mambo Light has only been with me for a few weeks and probably needed the race.
"I will think about the Preis der Winterkonigin or she could go to Ireland for the Goffs Fillies Million."
