Ayr puts back inspection to Sunday morning

PROSPECTS for Sunday's meeting at Ayr have improved and clerk of the course Emma Marley is full of hope that the meeting will go ahead.

A Saturday morning inspection was cancelled but a check will be made at 8am on the day of racing as a cold night is forecast.

"We are completely frost-free now and the temperature is due to get upto 6C today," Marley said on Saturday.

"It will get slightly colder overnight, between -2C and -3C, so we felt it was prudent to have a look in the morning. But I hope it will be just a grass frost and we are hopeful."
