HARRY THE VIKING has been installed as the 7-1 favourite for the Coral Scottish Grand National by the sponsors after he featured among 62 entries for the Ayr race on April 21.
Part-owned by Sir Alex Ferguson, Harry The Viking is also among the entries for the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown a week later but trainer Paul Nicholls has suggested the first option is the mostlikely.
Ikorodu Road, who beat John Smith's Grand National favourite Junior in the William Hill Grimthorpe Chase last month, and
Merigo, who won the Scottish Grand National in 2010, is a 12-1 chance for a second win.
Coral spokesman David Stevens said: "We're delighted with the entry for this year's Coral Scottish Grand National, a race that always features in the top ten biggest betting races of the year.
"Our opening favourite is Harry The Viking, his second place in at the Cheltenham Festival proving his likeness for a marathon trip, and trainer Paul Nicholls has suggested Ayr could be his target."
