PRINCESSE d'ANJOU has not been inthe winner's enclosure since taking the Group 1 Gras Savoye Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris back in 2008 but she has a good chance of success in this Group 2 chase if she can repeat the form she showed in the Prix La Haye Jousselin at Auteuil at the beginning of the month.
Trained by Francois Cottin and ridden by Philip Carberry, she will be coming up against her old rival Mid Dancer, who had Princesse d'Anjou two and a half lengths away in second when he lifted the Grand Steeple-Chase back in 2007.
Owned by Sean Mulryan's Pegasus Farms Ltd, Mid Dancer fell at the big ditch in the Haye Jousselin where Princesse d'Anjou ran a really decent second behind the easy winner Remember Rose, the best chaser in France.
Others who finished well beaten behind Princesse d'Anjou in the Haye Jousselin were Top Of The Sky, Polar Rochelais, Don Mirande and Or Noir de Somoza. She had previously been well beaten in the Group 2 Grand Steeple-Chase d'Enghien by Alarm Call, who is also in the field.
En La Cruz and Palmier are two very promising six-year-olds in the George Courtois. They met earlier this month in the Listed General Donnio and the former had the upper hand by half a length but he is a kilo worse off with the weights on this occasion.
