Caulfield: Hyland Race Colours Underwood Stakes (Group 1) 1m1f, 3yo+

ATLANTIC JEWEL, (Mark Kavanagh/Michael Rodd) the apple of her trainer's eye, takes another step towards the Cox Plate when taking on a very competitive field for the Group 1 Underwood Stakes at Caulfield.

The mare, unbeaten in nine career starts, will face last year's Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon, It's A Dundeel and this year's Melbourne Cup favourite Puissance De Lune in a strong running of the race, with 14 runners declared.

Jockey Michael Rodd is looking forward to riding Atlantic Jewel again and said: "With her you're always a little bit on edge, you want to make sure that she's always fit and well and there are no problems with her.

"There is pressure and definitely there'll be some butterflies before I get legged on her tomorrow, but once I get legged on and go to the barriers it all just seems to wash away."

Sea Moon, formerly with Sir Michael Stoute but now in the care of Robert Hickmott, has his second start down under in the race, having finished down the field on debut in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes.
