Attwater optimistic of success at Lingfield

TRAINER Michael Attwater is hoping to end 2012 with a bang when he saddles two runners in Lingfield's feature.

Attwater, who trains in Epsom, runs Saharia and Sunshine Always in the Class 4 32Red Handicap over 7f.

"Saharia was on a rating of 65 when he joined us but he climbed to 80 and it has been difficult from around that mark; he's now 79," said Attwater, who also runs L'Hirondelle on the card.

"He has been racing over longer trips, but I don't believe the drop to seven furlongs will inconvenience him. He hasn't run too often at Lingfield but if there's a strong gallop I think he'll be involved in the finish.

"It has taken us time to get Sunshine Always to win, but it came right for him last time when he won over this course and distance.

"He has worked better than ever since that win - he's jumping out of his skin. I appreciate he's out of the handicap, but he has a great turn foot and I expect him to be bang there. I'd be disappointed if he's not in the first two."

The jump meetings at Uttoxeter, Punchestown and Tramore all passed inspections to race.

Lingfield standard
