OFFICIALS at Ascot passed the round course fit for racing on Saturday, meaning the track's eight-race card will go ahead as scheduled.
Clerk of the course Chris Stickels held the inspection on the round course, which is due to host two 1m4f races on Saturday, at 6.30am but after a dry night, he was happy to give the track the green light.
Stickels said: "Racing goes ahead on the round course and we didn’t have any rain overnight. The straight course is soft and the round course is heavy, soft in places. "
The first race on Ascot's card, which features the Betfred Victoria Cup, will start at 1.45pm.
