Scoop6 reaches record total with an hour to go

WITH exactly an hour until the first race, today's Scoop6 has become the biggest combined fund in the history of the bet, with the £3,549,438 won in March 2009 already eclipsed.

The win and place rollover sat at an enticing £2,269,227 overnight and punters have wasted little time in helping the pool soar past the projected £3 million mark. With £3,557,141 already in play and the first leg, Haydock's 2.05, far enough away, the pool may well pass the £4 million mark.

With just six runners in the final leg (3.50 Haydock) any punter making it that far has a realistic chance of success. But the 17-runner handicap hurdle and a 19-runner handicap chase, that form the central part of the bet, are likely to prove a graveyard for most punters' dreams and aspirations.

The win fund has swollen to £1,611,434 (from the £973,464 that was brought forward) while the bonus pot, which will be up for grabs next week should someone successfully negotiate all six legs today, is up to £1,945,707 (from £1,295,763).
