No trouble this time as Maureen wins at Ascot
Report: Ascot, Saturday

THE Richard Hannon-trained filly Maureen made amends for her unlucky defeat in Newmarket's Group2 Cherry Hinton with a convincing win in Ascot's Group 3 Princess Margaret Juddmonte Stakes.

The 5-6 favourite challenged two furlongs out and then came away inside the final furlong under Richard Hughes to win easily.
Beforehand, the trainer's son Richard had said he expected her to win though his main worry would be a muddling pace, but that was never an issue and she was always holding off the challenge of Mick Channon's Sandreamer.
Before the race, William Hill trimmed Maureen, who had looked one of the season's unluckiest losers when failing to get a clear run in the Cherry Hinton, to 14-1 (from 16) for the Qipco 1,000 Guineas.
Hughes said: "She was very unlucky the last day, but it was just circumstance. The ideal way to ride her is to drop her in and use her turn of foot, but I sensed it would be messy.
"She'll probably never get this sort of ground again and might be better with a bit more give. We'll maybe look at the Lowther next then the Cheveley Park."
