Yanworth faces six rivals in final festival prep
ALAN KING will put the finishing touches to Champion Hurdle third favourite Yanworth's Cheltenham Festival preparations in Wincanton's Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle after the seven-year-old was among the seven entries.
Yanworth will face Rayvin Black and Irving, the two horses swatted aside by JP McManus's other Champion Hurdle favourite Buveur D'Air, as well as Ch'tibello, Sceau Royal, Melodic Rendezvous and Seven Nation Army.
Another McManus-owned Champion Hurdle/Stayers' Hurdle contender, Jezki, will face just four rivals in the Grade 3 Red Mills Trial Hurdle at Gowran Park. Rashaan, Rory O'Moore, Tombstone and Rock On Rosie are the opposition, but there is no Limini.
In the Grade 2 Red Mills Chase Ballycasey, Clarcam, Montys Meadow and Mozoltov are the four that go to post.
At Ascot, National Hunt Chase second favourite Arpege D'Alene faces five, including Fletchers Flyer, Bigbadjohn, Laurium, Flintham and Label Des Obeaux, in the Grade 2 Sodexo Reynoldstown Novices' Chase.
Agrapart, Anteros, Aux Ptits Soins, Desert Cry and Zarkandar are the five that go forward for the Grade 2 Betfred Rendlesham Hurdle at Haydock, while Tom Symonds' exciting Don Bersy faces four in the Betfred TV Victor Ludorum Juvenile Hurdle.
Cue Card was among the six left in the Grade 1 Betfair Ascot Chase at the 48-hour declaration stage on Thursday, while 14 were declared for Haydock's Grade 3 Betfred Grand National Trial.
