Goldikova's brother scores smooth success
Report: France, Saturday

ANODIN (Freddy Head/Olivier Peslier) capped a memorable week for both his jockey and owners Alain and Gerard Wertheimer in scoring an all-the-way success.
A full brother to the mighty Goldikova, Anodin had earned himself a crack at the Poule d'Essai des Poulains with a smooth success at Longchamp in April and was far from disgraced when finishing seventh in the Classic.
That form, which received a major boost when Intello and Morandi led home the field in the Jockey Club, now looks rock solid.
Anodin finished one place ahead of Gengis in the Poule d'Essai and the pair enjoyed a fair duel up the Chantilly straight, before Stephane Pasquier's mount subsided in the final 100 yards, ceding second place to San Marino Grey on the line.
"He was very unlucky in the Poule d'Essai and we said if there was no pace we'd make it," said Head, who guided the careers of both Goldikova and Anodin's Group 1-winning half sister Galikova.
"His sister Goldikova hadn't actually won a Group race at this stage of her career. He's getting better week-by-week and in principle he'll come back here for the Prix Jean Prat."
