The 19-year-old daughter of trainer Kevin Ryan will be fulfilling a long-held ambition byriding as an apprentice, and her father, who has pledged his full support, feels that she "will be great value for her allowance."

She said: "It's something I've always wanted to do, but my dad wanted me to get some experience as an amateur first, and when I won the amateur championship, he said it was then my decision what I decided to do. I realise, it's not going to be easy, and that I've still got an awful lot to learn, but I feel it's an opportunity too good to miss."
