Favourite Alive pulled out of Pretty Polly Stakes

ALIVE ALIVE OH misses out on the chance of yet another big race pot after being found in season before Sunday's Group 1 Oxigen Environmental Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh.

The Tommy Stack-trained three-year-old was a hugely impressive winner of the Salsabil Stakes at Naas and headed to Royal Ascot a warm favourite for the Ribblesdale Stakes but was withdrawn from that task because of the lively ground.

Alive Alive Oh was a best price 2-1 to beat a field of nine opponents at the Curragh, including last year's Investec Oaks heroine Was, Princess Highway, winner of the 2012 Ribblesdale and last season's Epsom and Irish Oaks second Shirocco Star.

In the absence of Alive Alive Oh, Was and Princess Highway were disputing favouritism at around 3-1.
