Mann mulls big-race targets for Air Force
HIGH-CLASS chaser Air Force One could make a fairly swift return to action despite tearing muscles in his back during the King George VI Chase.
Trainer Charlie Mann reckons the chestnut injured himself at the second fence, which caused him to put in a below-par effort at Kempton which was far removed from his second in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury.
"Hopefully he will be ridden again next week," said Mann.
A date to take on Denman, who is "99 per cent certain" to return in the Aon Chase, is being considered by Mann.
"Then we will look to running him again either in the Irish Hennessy or in the Aon Chase at Newbury."
