JOCKEY Adam Kirby will break new ground in America this weekend by teaming up with the Walter Swinburn-trained Stotsfold in the Arlington Million, also the target of Luca Cumani's Cima De Triomphe.
Kirby, 20, who enjoyed a memorable success on Clive Cox's Xtension in last week's Vintage Stakes at Goodwood, has ridden Stotsfold - a 16-1 chance with Blue Square - each time he has run over nearly three years, winning five times, including his latest start in La Coupe at Longchamp.
He said: "I've never ridden there before, but I'm going over with the boss on Thursday and he'll walk the course with me.
"I'm very excited and I'm more nervous about the plane journey than the race. I think Stotsfold should have a good chance."
