Appleby sure Zibelina will run a big race

2.55 Kempton

Betfred Mobile Lotto Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes, Listed | 1m, 4yo+ | C4/RUK

A LATE Easter is sure to have benefited the eight fillies who go to post for a strong renewal of a Listed contest in which Godolphin's Zibelina escapes a penalty, despite winning a Group 3 at Deauville last August.

That success came a fortnight before the inclusion point for penalties for today's contest and Charlie Appleby's four-year-old would appear to have strong claims.

What they say
Richard Hannon, trainer of Zurigha and Broadway Duchess
Zurigha has to carry a 3lb penalty but we think she'll be hard to beat. She won in this grade at Newmarket last backend, but she is also two from two at Kempton and seems to love that surface. She's a classy filly and was beaten only four lengths in the French 1,000 Guineas last year. Broadway Duchess was a consistent handicapper last year but we always thought she could go further than that, so this is a good opportunity for her to gain some black type.

Ed Dunlop, trainer of Auction
This looks a good starting point and I've been pleased with how she's been working just recently. She was unlucky not to win a Listed race at Sandown last year but it looks competitive with a decent Godolphin filly in there.

Lady Cecil, trainer of Magic Of Reality
She's been kept in training with the aim being to get some black type. She wears a hood to help her relax and is fit and well, but she'll improve for the run.

James Fanshawe, trainer of Ribbons
We're bringing her back in trip but this looks a good starting point for her. She doesn't come out well on the ratings but she looks well and seems in good form.

Marco Botti, trainer of Senafe
She hasn't run for a long time but she's had a good break and is in good form. It's a tough race but we're hoping for a place.

Charlie Appleby, trainer of Zibelina
She's had a good winter and this looks a nice starting spot for her. She hasn't run on the all-weather before but she works on the synthetics all the time at home and I'm confident she'll run a big race.

Going
Kempton
standard
Haydock good, good to soft in places (watered)
Carlisle good over hurdles, good, good to soft in places down back on chase course

Today's key pointer

Changing The Guard has form figures of 311 under Tom O'Brien and 111 at Newton Abbot. He makes obvious appeal in the 3.55
