O'Brien escapes unhurt after Ballydoyle fire
FORENSIC tests are being carried out to determine the cause of a fire which broke out at the home of trainer Aidan O'Brien at Ballydoyle on Wednesday night.
Members of O'Brien's family were in the house when the blaze broke out at around 10pm on Wednesday although all escaped unharmed, while no horses were caught up in the fire either.
Several units from the fire service were sent out to tackle the fire which is understood to have damaged the upstairs section of the house and the roof.
While the cause of the fire has yet to be established it is not believed to be suspicious.
Newmarket trainer Luca Cumani also recently had to deal with a fire in his yard, started by construction workers at the adjacent hotel. There were no injuries in that fire.
