THE £10,000 John Smiths Peterborough Derby took place on Saturday night and was won by the 7-4 favourite Lil Risky.

Mark Wallis's early paced railer needed to overcome a difficult trap five draw in what was an all-railer line-up.
However, supporters had little to worry about has he broke well and showed the superior early pace to make all.
Trouble at the first bend allowed the Ballymac Maeve slip clear down the far side and he came home five lengths clear of Frisby Barney in a very quick 24.99sec.

The final batch of Ladbrokes Irish Derby first round heats took place at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night and Sparta Maestro (Evs F) set the standard when taking the opener (heat 15) with a flying 29.54sec.
Kilbarry Rover (Evs F) came from off the pace to record 29.98sec in the next while Crossfield Star (5-4JF) went slightly quicker in recording 29.95sec in  heat 17.
The first upset of the night saw 4-6 jolly Tibetan Skies only finish third to Stay Thirsty (4-1) who made all in  29.75sec.
Lisnakill Ross (29.93sec) was a surprise 7-1 winner of heat 19 Tyrur Wozniacki (8-1) and Tyrur Mcguigan (2-1) won the next two for  Conor Fahy in 29.65sec and 29.76sec respectively while the lucky last went to ante-post favourite Ballymac Vic who landed odds of 2-7 in clocking a sparkling 29.51sec.
