Super Sid storms to success in Blue Riband

YOUNG SID was a brilliant winner of the £5,000 Ladbrokes Blue Riband final at Hall Green on Tuesday night.

Paul Young's charge made light work ofa tricky draw in five to storm clear on the run up and surge clear to beat Ten Large Down by six and a half lengths in a flying 28.31sec.
The card also included three Divisions of the Ladbrokes Standard with the best of them at 9.25 being won by Chris Allsopp's Freds Champ in a modest 28.93sec.
Division 2 had seen local success for Gerry Ballentine's Money Ball (28.73sec) while Division 3 was won by Karen Peak's Frankbrunosbro in 28.60sec.
The Super Stayers (8.00) saw victory for Stuart Mason's Luminous Park who was never troubled to make all in 40.89sec.
Mason was on the mark again in the 645-metre Stayers at 9.10 when Bowtime Joey justify support to get up close home in a time of 39.75sec.
The 258-metre dash at 8.35 was over in a blink of an eye when Stuart Buckland's Ballymac Denis flashed out to make all in a track record 15.12sec.
Pups had their time in the limelight at 8.50 and victory, as expected, went to Barrie Draper's newcomer Ballymac Eske in 28.55sec.
