SMILER JACK (11-8), trained at Wimbledon by Chris Mosdall,  powered to an impressive and  popular win in the final of the Coral On TV Stayers Maiden final at Romford on Friday.

He made full use of red to hold his position and accelerate into the lead out of the second bend, holding fast-starting Stellars Blue by over four lengths in a fast 35.28sec.

With Stellars Blue handled by GTA chairman candidate John Simpson, it was a Wimbledon 1-2.

Derby-winning trainer Mark Wallis had success towards the end of the card with Mountjoy Orion  (7-2), who got first run on favourite Westmead Melanie after flying out. Westmead Melanie ran on well after first bend trouble to be beaten just over a length in 35.66sec

However, Wallis’s Aero Joker, 1-2 hotpot in the finale and also over 575, could only manage third after a bunched affair. Despite getting to the front, she was involved in fifth bend trouble that saw Boxie slip clear to win in 35.50sec

**Harry Williams’ Mr Monkey went  off a 1-2 chance in a Sunderland trial stakes for the Williamhill.com Puppy Plate (event starts next Saturday) and raced clear for a comfortable three lengths victory in a fastest of the night 27.37sec. He looks promising in what was only his second race in Britain after winning at Dundalk back in March on his only race in Ireland.

**Skywalker Puma (5-4F) landed  the final of the Red Mills Champion Juvenile at Kilkenny, storming through to an easy win in 28.90sec for Frances O’Donnell.

Paul Hennessy’s Priceless Pilot (2-1J) again took off late to land the supporting A3 final, the James Tynan Memorial in 29.17sec.
