Scooby will do for starters at Coventry
GRADED fare for the RPGTV Flying Four today and a strong fancy to begin with as Russell Senior's Hazelbank Scooby looks primed to open his account at the track in Coventry's A1 contest over 485m at 8.26.
The ex-Kinsley greyhound may have been unfortunate not to do so a week ago as he recovered from a tardy start by pacing up well only to be crowded near and then at the first bend.
He showed admirable determination to keep on well to be beaten just over four lengths into third despite being squeezed for room again close home and a better break this evening can allow him to lead by the first bend.
The other Coventry race to feature is a B1 over the shorter 450m distance at 9.06 in which Kev Hutton's SWORDS MESSI can again go from the front and this time hold off Heads Or Tails unlike when the pair met in a similar contest last week.
At Romford, Jim Reynolds's TUNNEL TURBO can make it two wins in three starts at the venue by making all in a 400m A1 at 9.06. Having led to halfway on debut, he opened his account last time out and should still have further improvement in him.
The 10.26 S2 finale over 575m is wide open but Paul Young's JAYTEE POPPY is the time selection going by a 35.89sec trial on May 21 and she gets the vote on that basis.
Hills are betting on the Flying Four and go: 11-10 no winners, evens one winner, 9-2 two winners, 33-1 three winners and 750-1 that all four selections oblige.
Hazelbank Scooby 8.26 Coventry
Tunnel Turbo 9.06 Romford
Swords Messi 9.48 Coventry
Jaytee Poppy 10.26 Romford
