Tyrur Big Mike: Fastest Irish Derby heat winner with 29.51sec.

AT BELLE VUE the C&T Bookmakers Cock O'The North final, run over 670m and worth £1,500 to winning connections, was won by Ballyard Buddy (9-4).

Stuart Mason's Westmead Hawk whelp came from off the pace to catch runaway leader Blonde Fletch to score by one length in 40.68sec.
The two supporting opens, a midi Stayers over 590m and a 470m Standard, went to Kathryn Harris's Starmount Swift (7-4F) who bolted up by 6 1/4L in 35.47sec and Tony McKenna's Lionhearted Andy (6-1) who led from halfway to record 28.07sec.

Over at MONMORE the Ladbrokes.com 480 Trophy final  was won by Blazing Ruso (7-4).
Pat Rosney's charge, who was beaten seven lengths by Friday's Daryl in last week's heats, broke averagely but still had the pace to lead up and, aided by some crowding at the first and third bends, was away and gone to score by 5 1/4L in surprisingly modest 28.69sec.
 Supporting opens comprised of a 480m Puppy event at 8.10 and a 630-metre Stayers' at 9.15.
The pups event saw a very game effort from Alan Jenkins' Ballymac Eat (9-4) who got up close home to beat Final McCoy in a time of 28.48sec.
The Stayers' contest produced a workmanlike performance from Sandra Ralph's Liscahane Razl (4-6F) who made all in 38.12sec.

The second batch of Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby first round heats (7 to 14) were run at Shelbourne Park and fastest qualifier on the night was ...
Pat Buckley's Dragon Shield (2-1F) banged out and made all to take the night's first heat in 29.95sec.
Graham Holland's Cabra Millie (3-1) showed good early pace and impressed in taking heat eight by five lengths in 29.60sec.
Owen McKenna's Confident Rankin (Evs F) was another all-the-way winner when justifying the confidence in heat nine and clocking 29.70sec.
Heat ten, one of the hottest of all, went to the Fahy-trained Tyrur Sugar Ray (9-2) who outstayed Cuil Cougar to score by 2 1/2L in 29.65sec.
Fraser Black's Mays Milan (5-1) won heat eleven where Razldazl Jayfkay (1-2F) finish last and was eliminated.
Dusseldorf (5-1) clocked 29.88sec in winning heat twelve while Dave Hunt's Sawpit Sensation (9-2), the only English raider in the competition, got up late to win the next in a useful 29.69sec.
Tyrur Big Mike (2-1F) then impressed when taking the final heat of the night in a superb and fastest-to-date 29.51sec.
