Over at MONMORE the Ladbrokes.com 480 Trophy final was won by Blazing Ruso (7-4).
Pat Rosney's charge, who was beaten seven lengths by Friday's Daryl in last week's heats, broke averagely but still had the pace to lead up and, aided by some crowding at the first and third bends, was away and gone to score by 5 1/4L in surprisingly modest 28.69sec.
Supporting opens comprised of a 480m Puppy event at 8.10 and a 630-metre Stayers' at 9.15.
The pups event saw a very game effort from Alan Jenkins' Ballymac Eat (9-4) who got up close home to beat Final McCoy in a time of 28.48sec.
The Stayers' contest produced a workmanlike performance from Sandra Ralph's Liscahane Razl (4-6F) who made all in 38.12sec.
