Bubbly Phoenix: Has draw stripes in the All England Cup final

A FANTASTIC night's racing at Newcastle, which comprised of eliminators of four different competitions, was headed by the three semi-finals of the £10,000 All England Cup.

The finals of all four competitions, sponsored by William Hill, will feature on next Wednesday's programme which will be shown live on Sky Sports.
The opening qualifier saw Paul Young's Bubbly Phoenix run a superb first bend to take two lengths out of Skywalker Louie and that's how they remained throughout with the winner clocking a useful 28.44sec.
The second eliminator went to Jimmy Fenwick's local Denwill Star who, taking advantage of trouble behind, gamely made all in 28.81sec.
Harry Williams was back on the scoresheet when his prolific Mags Gamble banged out and made all to beat kennelmate Tudor Prince in a fastest-of-the-session 28.36sec.
Draw for the final: 1 Skywalker Louie, 2 Whittle Murtagh, 3 Tudor Prince, 4 Mags Gamble (m), 5 Denwill Star (m), 6 Bubbly Phoenix (w).

The card had opened with the two semi-finals of the £8,000 Northern Puppy Derby for which John Sharp's Lemon Pluto (6-1) set the standard when making all to take the opener in 28.66sec while Paul Young's Jaytee Hellcat (3-1) came from behind to take the second in 28.75sec.
Draw for the final: 1 Joscar, 2 Jaytee Hellcat, 3 Teejays Bluehawk, 4 Lemon Pluto (m), 5 Express Flame (w), 6 Killieford Deal (w).

The Angel Of The North heats were next up and Harry Williams' Brunswick Jenny (5-4F) was a most impressive winner of the first - making all in a useful 28.50sec.
Dave Firmager's Fabulous Shiraz (8-1) and  Adrian McPherson's Lemon Sinead (7-2) then employed the same tactics to win the second and third heats in 28.77sec and 28.95sec respectively.
Draw for the final: 1 Bansha Mo, 2 Brunswick Jenny, 3 Lemon Sinead (m), 4 Centurion Dolly (m), 5 Moyar Kite (w), 6 Fabulous Shiraz (w).

Also included on the programme were three heats of the Great North Run (670m) and these were won by Stuart Mason's Ballyard Buddy in 41.18sec, Jimmy Wright's Derrane Jake (40.91sec) and Elaine Parker's Welton Arthur (41.02sec).
Draw for the final: 1 Derrane Jake, 2 Welton Arthur, 3 Swabys Princess, 4 Elwick Quizz, 5 Killieford Blaze, 6 Ballyard Buddy (m).

**BELLE VUE staged the semi-finals of the £3,000 Showsec Scurry Cup where there were wins for Charlie Lister's Drumna Ice in 15.10sec, Adam Agnew's Peckham Spring (15.23sec) and Maurice Walsh's Skate On (15.25sec).
Draw for Thursday's final: 1 Judys Bloom, 2 Fernhill Jess (m), 3 Peckham Spring (m), 4 Skate On (m), 5 Drumna Ice (w), 6 Dynamo Joe (w).


**HENLOW held their first round heats of the £2,500 Gold Cup and fastest of the six winners was Tony Gifkin's Droopys English who took the opener in 34.42sec). Others heat winners were  Carol Grasso's Westmeasd Apollo (34.49sec), Paul Young's pairing of Bubbly Ebony (34.57sec) and Bubbly Rossie 34.62sec), Seamus Gaughan's Unlikely Bull (34.70sec) and Eric Cantillon's Blackrose Eve (34.73sec).
