THE £15,000 to-the-winner Nottingham Produce Stakes got under way on Monday night with all eight first round heats (500m) being shown on the betting shop Bags service.
The opening qualifier saw Mark Wallis's Jazz Tilly (5-2) lead out of the second turn to beat Nick Savva's litter brothers Westmead Aouita and Westmead Atlas in 31.38sec.
Kevin Hutton's Gemstone Annie (8-11F), who had beaten Jazz Tilly in a recent trial, showed pace and determination in riding early trouble and landing heat two in a time of 31.40sec.
Nick Savva's Bubbly Swallow (7-4) was impressive in taking heat three where she tracked Romeo You Decide for three bends before kicking away from the last for an easy 6 1/2L success in 30.82sec.
Dave Firmager's Romeo Recruit then justified odds of 2-5 to dominate the fourth from start to finish in a superb 30.38sec.
The Judge couldn't separate Nick Savva's Westmead Rocky (6-4JF) and Mark Wallis's Kinda Neat (4-1) in heat five with a dead-heat declared in a time of 31.10sec.
Andy Clarke's Johnny Kwango, a 4-9 jolly, then produced a stunning run of 30.14sec when making all of the runningt to take the sixth by a shade over six lengths.
Heat seven, arguably one of the weaker line-ups, saw Kevin Wright's Anfi Bandit (7-2) get on top close home in 30.88sec.
The session ended with an emphatic success for Dave Firmager's Fabulous Adele who railed well and, leading off the second bend, drew clear for an easy 30.72sec.

ROMFORD staged two heats of the Coral On TV Stayers Trophy (575m) and fastest qualifier going forward to Friday's £750 decider live on RPGTV is Brave The Times.
It was the second heat that saw Derrick Atkins' charge, who led at the third bend and forged ahead from the fourth, record a comfortable 2 1/4L success in a superior 35.68sec.
Paul Young's Coolavanny Fairy broke well and made all to take the opening heat in 36.16sec. Runner-up Dixies Air, who did a lot of running to qualify after trouble at bends one and four, was only beaten one length and will be looking for revenge on Friday.
**Draw for Friday's final: 1 Coolavanny Fairy, 2 Brave The Times, 3 Dixies Air, 4 Mays Millhouse, 5 Oneco Talent, 6 Young Fizz (w).
