Jaytee Monroe heads the Brighton Belle qualifiers
Paul Young: trains fastest Brighton Belle heat winner Jaytee Monroe
PICTURE: STEVE NASHTHREE heats of the Coral Brighton Belle were the highlight of the televised card at Hove on Thursday evening and fastest going forward to next week's £2,500 decider (also live on RPGTV) is Jaytee Monmore.
The first semi-final went to Bryan Turner's Story Time (7-2) who sprinted clear to make all beating the fast finishing Ayamzabeauty by 2 1/4L in 29.99sec. Droopys Danneel, an uneasy 5-4 jolly, was slow away and ran a very disappointing sixth.
The second eliminator went to Paul Young's Jaytee Monroe. The strong-running seed managed to turn second to the improving Sharies Miller and reeled in that runner close home in a speedy 29.80sec.
The third semi went to a gutsy Starmount Swift (2-1). Kath Harris's bitch didn't break too well but forced an opening at the first bend and hit the front down the far side. The Belle Vue raider then had to hold the rallying Fortunata and the staying on Hailsham Hawk in a time of 30.06sec.
Draw for Thursday's final: 1 Starmount Swift, 2 Fortunata (m), 3 Sharies Miller (m), 4 Story Time (m), 5 Ayamzabeauty (w), 6 Jaytee Monroe (w).
The card also included two heats of the Charlie Miller Stayers (£1,000 final live on RPGTV next Thursday) and these were won by Kevin Hutton's pairing of Crinkill Jewel (2-1F) who got up late to score in 41.78sec and Five Alley Pub (5-1) who held the odds-on Britania Rachel in41.66sec.
