Hills make JFK 1-5 for Saturday's heat two

RAZLDAZL JAYFKAY shot to 3-1 favouritism from 5-1 with the sponsors for the williamhill.com Greyhound Derby after toasting the track record in a blistering 28.08s on Saturday night.

Dolores Ruth’s star is now 1-5 with Hills tocontinue his unbeaten progression through the third round of the £125,000 competition when he steps out in the second heat next weekend.

A short time prior, the previous 28.17s record had almost taken a shaving when Judicial Ruling landed his heat in impressive fashion, and was promoted to 8-1 from 16-1 with Hills for the final. Michael O’Donovan’s charge is 4-6 to crown the round three finale off with victory.

The sponsors also quote 7-4 that the track record will be toppled again during the competition, with a further 7-2 available for the 28s barrier to be broken at any point.

Reigning champ Taylors Sky has been eased by Hills to 7-1 from 6-1 for thefinal, and is odds-against at 7-4 for the first time in 13 races when he takes on Jaytee Pedro (11-4), Barefoot Allstar (7-2), and Young Sid (7-2) in the sixth contest.

William Hill spokeswoman Lucy Rhodes said “With a show-stopping performance like that, Razldazl Jayfkay must have his opponents running scared, not to mention us! His bid to make amends for last year’s unfortunate exit are getting stronger by the week with Taylors Sky becoming easy to back. However,underestimate the master Charlie Lister OBE at your peril!”
