Hills go 7-1 Jayfkay, Sky, 8 Bubbly after draw

TAYLORS SKY, the defending williamhill.com Derby champion, has been drawn to meet his younger rival, Eden Star, in the clash of the second round at Wimbledon on Friday.

Taylors Sky goes from trap two, with Eden Star, the Racing Post Juvenile hero, on his inside in red. Mill Pegasus, Kelly Macari’s Scottish Derby finalist, is drawn trap three.

Facing a battle for survival to the third round are Westmead Adonis (trap four),  Farloe Luigi (five) and French Blue (six).

There are eight heats on Friday, with heats 9-16 on Saturday – when Razldazl Jayfkay, Ireland’s leading hope, goes from trap five in heat 13, meeting compatriot Droopys Jet.

Scottish Derby winner Barefoot Allstar looks nicely boxed with two in heat 14; there is a huge battle ahead in heat 15 where Charlie Lister’s Boher Paddy (trap one) and Silverview Perky (four) emerged together, plus Mark Wallis’s Golden Sprint hero Blonde Snapper in trap five. All three won first round heats nicely.

Fastest first round winner Bubbly Phoenix came out in the final heat 16, perfectly slotted in trap six. He does face substantial rivals in triple Category One winner Mill Bling Bling (trap two), 2011 Racing Post Juvenile winner Blue Artisan  (four) and Kelly Findlay’s rapidly improving Jaytee Pedro (five).

The first three from each heat qualify. The third round is Saturday week, and will be liveon Sky Sports.
