SKYWALKER LOUIE, a standing dish over 500m at Sheffield, made it 11 wins from his last 13 starts over the trip when landing odds of 4-7 in the Bookmakers Standard at the Owlerton Stadium on Tuesday night.
Elaine Parker's class act once again got a nice tow from Stepaside Bigjak before taking control on the final two bends and staying on well to beat Dream On Buddy (ran well) by 2 3/4L in 29.49sec.
The 720m Super Stayers at 8.14 promised to be a cracker and, despite the absence of Proper Pink (T6), didn't let us down.
Barrie Draper's Magna Sparrow was sent off the odds-on favourite and basically settled the race from the cans.
The October 08 son of Westmead Hawk broke well dominated from start to finish to beat the staying on Tyrur Pudsy (ran well) by 2 1/2L in 43.57sec.
The first of the five opens races on the Sheffield card was one of two Bitches races for which Proper Nora (T4), the anticipated jolly, was a non runner.
This left the door open for Elaine Parker's Russanda Clash (8-11F) who justified the odds in workmanlike fashion to record 28.58sec.
The second Bitches race went off at 8.31 and saw Sean Davy's Shelbourne Abi (9-2) crack out and make all in a time of 28.48sec. Barrie Draper's odds-on favourite Farlow Holly, who was crowded at the start and badly hampered at the first bend, finished fifth.
Earlier, John Sharp's Bowtime Regan (3-1) came out best in a nodding finish when taking the scalp of Stepaside Eagle to land the 280-metre Sprint in a time of 16.39sec.
