Cahill's Danneel is fastest in Brighton Belle heats

PICTURE: STEVE NASHSIX heats of the Coral Brighton Belle were the highlight of Hove's programme on Thursday night and fastest qualifier going forward to next week's semi-finals is Droopys Danneel.
The opening eliminator saw Kath Harris's Belle Vue raider Starmount Swift (9-4) make all of the running to beat the unlucky Fortunata by 1 1/4L in a time of 29.98sec.
Mark Wallis had four runners in heat two and it was his Aero Joker (5-2) who showed grit and determination to rally and beat Sherrys Rebound by 1/2L in 30.20sec.
Derek Knight's well-supported Seven Of Spades (7-4F) enjoyed a dream run on the fence in heat three to beat the eyecatching Ayamzabeauty by 3/4L in 29.94sec.
Heat four went to Seamus Cahill's Droopys Danneel (7-2) who turned second to the fast-starting Scramble and got on top close home to score by 3/4L in 29.87sec.
There was a surprise result in heat five when Claude Gardiner's Parkwest Angel (8-1) beat Droopys Hiss by the shortest of short heads in a clock of 30.17sec.
Last of the six eliminators went to Jason Heath's 12-1 chance Ballymac Sicily who belied her starting price to romp to a 3 3/4L success in 29.91sec.
