Arod could bloom in Rose Of Lancaster
DERBY fourth Arod could step back into Group company this weekend, with the colt featuring among 17 five-day entries for the Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock.
Trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam mentioned the race as a possible target following Arod's last start, when he made light work of two rivals in a conditions race at Leicester.
True Story, three places behind Arod at Epsom then fifth in the Coral-Eclipse last time, is another potentially exciting runner for the 1m2f Group 3, while Glorious Goodwood handicap winner Sennockian Star has been entered by Mark Johnston.
Grandeur has had his last three starts in America, and could run for Jeremy Noseda, while Hillstar, who was scratched from the Glorious Stakes at Goodwood on the morning of the race last Friday, is a possible for Sir Michael Stoute.
At Newmarket the German-thoroughbred.com Sweet Solera Stakes is the highlight with 16 juvenile fillies entered for the Group 3.
Henry Candy is enjoying a fantastic season with his two-year-old runners, and the unbeaten Alonsoa could give him a shot at another decent prize.
Recent Leicester maiden winner Stroll Patrol, who holds an entry for the Rockfel, is a possible for Charlie McBride, while Efflorescence and Winters Moon, both winners on debut, could run for Godolphin.
